Born in Britain I relocated to Colorado in 2005 and love my new life here. I can hardly believe that this month I will have lived in Colorado for 6 whole years! have always been inspired by the landscape in the US and that inspiration has found its way into some of my work. The colors of the mountains and the high desert area where i live constantly amaze me.

I made my first quilt in 1986 and moved from traditional designs to Art Quilts in 1993 after a family tragedy when I could only express my feelings through creativity. That was an amazing experience; I felt like I had been pushed through a doorway and the door had been locked behind me. Scary but exciting at the same time. My love of clothes also prompted me to begin making one off Wearable Art.

Over the years I have taken classes with many of the well-known Art Quilters of the world and enjoyed the learning process and seeing the results of study in my work.
I began to work as a demonstrator at Quilt Shows in Europe and the UK in 1997 and then to teach classes myself and I enjoy passing on the skills I have developed. I have taught, lectured and exhibited all over the UK, many European countries and the USA. 

I am honored to have been asked to have solo shows at a number of venues in Europe and in the USA and to participate in Invitation only shows.
Since arriving in the USA I have been fortunate to be juried into a number of prestigious exhibitions and also to have sold my work both Wearable Art and Wallhangings. 

I am one of the owners of the co-operative The Courtyard Gallery in Buena Vista CO www.thecourtyardgallery.com. I was President of the Arkansas Valley Arts Center for 4 years www.avacgallery.com and also show my work at Gallery 150 Salida CO. In January 2011 I became the co-rep for SAQA for the Rocky Mountain Region along with Liz Kettle and we have already worked on curating a number of shows for SAQA www.saqa.com . This is a very exciting opportunity.

Through my work I find a way of expressing myself that I am unable to do in any other way. It is very personal to me and with it I am able to discover new things about myself and the world I live in.
The reward is enormous when other people also respond to what I have created.
